September is officially recognized as California Rail Safety Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of practicing safe behaviors around railroad tracks and crossings. The Tulare County Association of Governments (TCAG) is proud to join statewide efforts to educate and remind the public that rail safety saves lives.
With rail lines running through many Tulare County communities, rail safety is a shared responsibility. Simple actions such as never stopping on the tracks, obeying warning signals, and staying alert near crossings can prevent tragic accidents.
TCAG encourages all residents to follow three key safety tips:
- Stop and never try to beat a train.
- Look and listen before crossing.
- Stay off the tracks unless you are safely crossing at a designated crossing.
As Tulare County continues to grow, TCAG remains committed to ensuring the safe movement of people and goods while supporting statewide safety campaigns. Together, we can build safer communities for everyone.
